I have been a big fan of War of
the Worlds ever since I read the book by HG Wells way back
in grade 6. We read the book, then listened to the Orson Welles 1938 radio broadcast of the War Of The Worlds.
I remember even then being sucked into the plot, and felt as if
I was actually in the book.
Orson had a great way of
depicting a real sense of panic. If any of you have read the
book, or have seen the new movie you will definitely know what
I'm talking about.
The cast and crew of the new
War of the Worlds movie did a great job in the first 45 minutes
of the movie. I can remember sitting on the edge of my seat with
squinted eyes shielding myself with my greasy bag of popcorn.
The sounds, sights and anticipation is what gets you. Steven
Spielberg never ceases to amaze me with his mechanical sounds
used for machinery and the environments surrounding them.
Anyway, without giving too much
of the movie away, the first half of the movie is one thrill
ride you will never forget. But I'm not here to blather on and
on about the movie now am I? No, I am here to spoon feed you
