I’ve been an avid Counter Strike fan since its inception back in the late 90’s. I can remember the time of day, what I was wearing and furthermore where I was when I found out there was this real cool ‘add on’ for Half Life that was absolutely free called Counter Strike.

Oddly enough, this was so long ago that I was playing Counter Strike on my old ‘gaming machine’ which contained a Celeron 500mhz processor, 64MB Ram, a 32MB Shared Graphics card and a 56k Dial up Modem.

I suppose you can say I’m a ‘veteran’ when it comes to Counter Strike and in my hay days I was quite the player (beating various nationalists throughout Canada). As computers evolved, Counter Strike was right along with it, bringing upon hundreds of updates and patches keeping up to date on the latest graphics and physics engines. Counter Strike had changed the way gamers played online and grew into one of the industries largest online FPS shooters to date.

I still play Counter Strike 1.6, and CSS (counter strike source) on occasion, but I don’t know if I’m just rusty or if gamers have evolved into some sort of super frag pwnage machine.
